Bistro Remedios has been around for, like forever.
Together with other LJC group restaurants, the place used to a haunt for Bohemes, literati, officeworkers and the like. Located near Manila's Adriatico circle, this has been the go-to place for Filipino comfort food for decades. Today, other LJC restos have sprouted in malls but nothing compares to the charm of dining in Malate, where it all began. If you're a Malate virgin, there's nothing like their famous Crispy Pata (Deep fried pork leg) that can ease a growling tummy. Other must tries are the Baby Squid in Oil and Chili, the appetizer of champions or their most copied dish- the Crispy Tadyang (crispy Beef ribs). For me, I'm happy with a bowl of rice and their Gising-gising( sauteed string beans in coconut milk and chili).
Gambas (shrimps in chili oil)
Binukadkad na Plapla (butterflied Tilapia)
Then I'll cap it off with Claude's Dream (coconut strips and pandan jelly with coconut ice cream) The place may be a bit pricey compared to other Filipino restos but hey, you're dining at the best.
